Rob Roy covered bridge is in the unincorporated community of Rob Roy, south of Attica, Indiana. The bridge, constructed in 1860 carries CR 800N over Big Shawnee Creek. It is located less than a quarter of a mile west of US41. It has been closed because of structural deficiencies for about three years. After a fund raising effort by locals, a donor was found to fund repairs to the bridge and put funds in a trust for it’s future upkeep.

After intensive repairs, the bridge grand re-opening ceremony was held on Sunday July 2nd, 2017. The bridge needs to be inspected by the County Highway Department, before it can be re-opened to vehicular traffic, which should only take a week or two.

The ceremonial ribbon cutting was performed by Fountain County Commissioner Craig Stalter. The event was covered by local TV station WLFI, from Lafayette. http://www.wlfi.com/story/35799108/fountain-co-community-reopens-old-covered-bridge
